Italy joined the Allies during the Great War and was therefore supplied with British Service Mk. I guns, totalling 2852 guns.
Some of the guns were sold on to Ecuador in the 1920s. These then managed to make their way in to the United States collector market and subsequently the British Ministry of Defence Pattern Room.
