Sir Arthur Trevor Dawson was the Chief Engineer at Vickers Limited and patent holder for many of the Vickers machine gun’s improvements.

During the time the Vickers was being assessed by the British Army, he purchased a double-barrel 12-bore Cogswell and Harrison shotgun purchased in 1912
