1st Brigade Machine Gun Company

A Machine Gun Company was attached to each Infantry Brigade and their subsequent Division.

Machine Gun Section of 10th Bn. The Gloucestershire Regiment
Machine Gun Section of 8th Bn. The Royal Berkshire Regiment

The 1st Bde. M.G. Coy. was formed on the 26 January 1916 from the Machine Gun Sections of the listed infantry battalions.

On 28 February 1918, it was amalgamated with the 2nd, 3rd and 216th Machine Gun Companies to form No. 1 Battalion, Machine Gun Corps.

As a unit of the 1st Infantry Division, it will have taken part in the following battles and engagements.
