233rd Machine Gun Company

Machine Gun Company was attached to each Infantry Brigade and their subsequent Division.

The 233rd M.G. Coy. joined the 3rd Division on the 18 July 1917.

As a unit of the 3rd Division, it will have taken part in the following battles and engagements.

BATTLES OF YPRES
22 to 25 SeptemberBattle of the Menin Road Ridge [V. Corps, Fifth Army]
25 to 30 SeptemberBattle of Polygon Wood [V. Corps, Fifth Army, until 10 a.m., 28 September, then under II. ANZAZ Corps, Second Army].

On 06 March 1918, it was amalgamated with the 8th9th and 76th Machine Gun Companies to form No. 3 Battalion, Machine Gun Corps.
